It's quite hard to give any advice without seeing the complete data. Were any lab tests or confirmatory tests done to come up with a diagnosis? As you may know, there are a lot of autoimmune diseases. As for the hives, there may be a lot of causes, from allergic reaction to an irritant. It can also be associated with SLE, thyroid disease and coeliac disease. Get a referral to a specialist (if you're totally disappointed with general practitioners) and have diagnostic tests done (if none yet) to make an accurate diagnosis.
