Seroquel has multiple side effects, some of them common, a few of them serious and life-threatening. However, should the doctor's prescription be followed, then the side effects are minimized.
The use of Seroquel for sleeping disorders is what we can call "off-label" since this is not the primary use of the drug, however, since it can help patients sleep, this has been used for that purpose as well.
Common side effects include weight gain[21], constipation, headache and dry mouth. Six to seven percent of patients may experience tachycardia.
