Well - you weren't put on beta blockers because your blood pressure was normal to start with. You don't give enough details. Why do you take beta blockers (I take them for HBP)? What was your blood pressure before? Have you been drinking or eating a lot of sodium? Both of those can raise your blood pressure. Restaurant food is LOADED with sodium. Also, beta blockers take some days to work fully.

Keep checking your BP, and if it continues to rise, or doesn't go down in a few more days - contact your doctor.
