Medications often have different effects on each individual, and this includes glipizide. Did your grandmother's eating habits change? Sometimes, it may cause loss of appetite which may account for the weight loss. Glipizide acts by producing more insulin to bring down blood sugar levels. If there is really a marked weight loss, I would suggest that you consult her doctor about it since it may be a sign of something else.
