    @Rhino236

    I would suggest supplementing with Calcium and Magnesium, both important components for muscular contraction. Depletion of these can happen when the sympathetic nervous system is activated for long periods of time.

    I would also recommend supplementing with Taurine, which is also depleted when taking amphetamine salts. It may also help with focus, but not in a way that may be noticeable when taking aderall.

    Also, if you are sitting at a desk all day, studying or working, then this will also contribute greatly to this lower back pain.

    I would try out these supplements, and also try out stretching a few times a day. Keep us posted.

    I had very intense back tension when I first was prescribed my ADD meds. My doctor also gave me Norontin 200 mg and problem solved. Later I started adding lots of exercise into my day to get rid of the extra energy/tension. Also at work got a lumbar for my back and a Yoga ball to lay my back on and stretch out. I no longer need to use the Norontin. I think it takes some getting used too and some techniques.

    Palchod is right about the depletion of amino acids, taurine is good, but just get used to it now I kind of like it.

    Interesting to know there are plenty of others with this problem. Tension, dehydration, and a crappy chair are things that I've identified as the cause. Chamomille tea, advil and yoga have really helped. Hot yoga instantly releaves the tension and helps the back. It does, however, greatly increase the need for more fluids. Taking IB or naproxin at the same time as the adderall helps to postpone the problem from starting. I also set a time when I'm going to stop working and go for a walk around the block just to straighten out the ole back.

    try using some of that addied-up time to read up on the alexander technique. nothing else has made as much of a difference in my back pain levels. one of the main exercises is simply lying down on the floor in what they call the "semi-supine" position, check it out:

    I've noticed some pain as well at times. I attribute it to being tensed up on account of the reaction to the amphetamines. Maybe try getting a massage before or after. If this does the trick, that means its must muscle tension and not indicative of something more serious.

    I agree with Robomarley... being sat on a ball or a special chair during working time worked well for me (and I had pretty bad backpain because of those bloody stims.)
