How does Ritalin affect Children and Teens?

I am writing a feature article for my english assignment on how ritalin affects children and teens.

I was looking for some first hand accounts of what happens in patients, e.g. changes in moods or behaviour, changes in health.

I was also looking for any doctors who work with ritalin, or ahve perscribed ritalin to patients e.g. what symptoms did patients display before and after treatment, and if and changes occured were they adverse or improved.

well, when my brother was around 3 years old he was prescribed ritalin for adhd. obviously, being a 3 year old boy he didn't really need it. he was just a hyper child-like most boys. while he was taking ritalin he was like a little zombie. he never wanted to do ANYTHING! it was kind of sad. he was always sleepy, lazy, and lifeless. after a few weeks my mother took him off of it and he's been fine ever since. he's 15 now.
