anyone know long term effects morphine and any side effects

i am on 40mg twice a day for my lower back pain but at 37 am scared about prospects of being on this for ever and 80 mg still not relieving pain so going to have to up dose am quite concerned.

When you are injured the body processes morphine differently. There is very little evidence of injured patients becoming addicted.
If you have a proclivity to addiction then that should be watched closely. Any surgery will cause an initial increase in pain. You should bring these concerns to your doctor.
