Oxys have less acetaminophen (tylenol) than hydrocodone but they are more addicting. However, if you are going through cancer treatments I think the addiction factor at that point would be of lesser concern. Oxys are also stronger pain killers so they may be more effective for you and due to the smaller dose of acetaminophen it may be easier on your stomach and will be less toxic to your liver (which is already operating in overload from the chemo and other drugs your body is metabolizing).

You need Fioricet for headaches, not narcotics.

The only difference is in the controlled substance degree that each fall under. Hydrocodone is not a triplicate prescription and oxycodone is. As far as pain relief goes they are both given for moderate to severe pain relief. Oxycodone also comes in a time released form (oxycontin ) where hydrocodone is for acute pain only. There are also different strengths of each. Whatever your pain it's up to the doctor to decide which one you should take. It depends on a number of facts including injury or cause, tolerance and allergies, among age and other things. I suggest you go to a neurologist for the sever headaches. You need to find out what's causing the headaches before treating them.Good luck and God Bless

Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain reliever which is added to Tylenol and they call it Vicodin or lorcet, lorcet plus or lorcet 10 depending on how much hydrocodone is in the tablet.
Oxycodone is another narcotic pain reliever which is added to Tylenol or Aspirin and sometimes Ibuprophen and its called Percocet or Percodan depending on what its with. It can also be taken without the acetaminopen.
The prevention of nausea with these drugs is a trick. Sometimes if you eat something before you swallow the pain tablet it helps or often times I give my patients in the hospital nausea meds and follow it with a pain pill. If you have nausea meds, take it 1st, wait 1/2 hour then take the pain pill. I hope this helps.
