I was prescribed a bottle of Dihydro-PE cough syrup. Is this the same thing as codeine-based cough syrup

I was prescribed this yesterday and when I returned home, there was no information papers with this. It says it contains 3mg of dihydrocodeine...

It is similar to the codeine based cough syrups since it has antitussive effects too. However, the usual codeine based cough syrups has more codeine in it, like 5mg compared to the codeine content of dihydro-PE which as you said is 3mg.
