hydrocodone vs codeine HELP

so i used to be prescribed hydrocodone 10 mgs but now im prescribed codeine 8 mgs, which is stronger, and how many of the weaker one does it take to = one of the stronger one... please and thank you, i dont want to take any before i know more information and my knee is hurting so if you can help

Hydrocodone is alot like codeine, except that codeine is a natural derivative of opium plants whilst hydrocodone is synthetic. Hydrocodone is also much stronger, so the 60mg of codeine in a Tylenol #4 tablet is about as effective as 10mg of hydrocodone.
