Street value of oxycontin?
I've been prescribed oxycontin for a couple years now due to serious back problems I sustained at work... well I just recently lost my insurance and besides that just no longer desire to touch the stuff. Anyways, I have my last script left and am wondering what is the standard price for an 80 milligram oxycontin? I don't want these last ones but don't want to be taken for a ridiculous price, I am totally clueless as to what they usually would go for.

Any help would be much appreciated,
Jack W. Kennedy

If you feel that you don't really need to take this medication anymore since there is no more pain or it is tolerable, I would suggest that you don't take it anymore. You would be better off without it since this can be habit forming.

Hope this helps.

In Texas Oxycontin 80mg's 10 to 15 bucks a piece. There the gray oblong pills with 80 on them right? I've had those a few times. Amazing pills. But yeah, that's the price they're going for here, unless you sell the whole lot to one person, then you'd drop the price a few bucks. I'd say 9 to 12 bucks a piece, give or take a couple dollars. Hope this helps.
Oh plus, I'm an ex-drug dealer so I'm pretty good on estimates.

In memphis the 80s go for 40 bucks. Its 50 cents a mg round here unless you buy larger amounts.

I'm sure you could get anywhere from $15 (inexpensive) to $60 or more each, providing that you are willing to commit a felony crime carrying a mandatory 20 years in prison if you are caught. 30 years if the drug causes "injury or death," after it leaves your hands (United States Department of Justice USC Title 21 Section 841) Federal jurisdiction could be a real possibility
concerning sale of schedule II drugs can be handled by the DOJ in your state as well as by the DEA. So there's that drawback.
I'm more inclined to ask if you have been taking 80 mg. 2x daily (and not crushing or snorting to evade the slow release coating) if you have any idea how your body will react to the sudden, total withdrawl of a narcotic in the same ballpark as Demerol and morphine. Are you in excellent health? Even if you are you won't be about 18 - 24 hours after your last dosage. Go watch the movie The French Connection where Gene Hackman goes through what you will be going through. I strongly suggest getting on the local chain pharmacy medical support program to remove the cost issue, telling your doctor you want to taper off the drug with your goal being a non-narcotic management of your back injury. Explain your financial concerns (I hope he isn't just handing you three scripts at a time for 80mg OC #60 and saying "see you in a few months." either way if you want to end up in the ER convulsing, sweating, dry heaving, cold yet hot, unintelligable and with a pulse count of 180 wishing you had a gun so you could make it stop - well, it's your choice.
I've seen this happen, and it is avoidable, and advisable to think serious about what Ive mentioned.
Try this: take your next dose today, then give your wife or friend all of the rest of your current bottle and tell them to hide it and not give you any for 48 to 72 hours. See how you feel.
Oh don't sell them within 1000 feet of a school, etc. It doubles your sentence where I live. If you get caught. And if you sell them to someone with no tolerance they could easily do something like eat 3 and have a few drinks and die.
Be careful, but do what you have to do.

I'm having problems seeing the long term effects on a person who has chronic pain and wants and needs and can financially keep taking the drug in its intended time released form. I myself am 34 and are using the stuff for 4 years now. The past year though, I have been slowly but steadily going down from 60mg to 7.5mg at the moment. No withdrawel symptoms at all. Could have done it a lot faster without those symptoms too, but since I am a good boy, the let me chart my own course for now.

Now... for me the problem will be getting back on the stuff later on :-) I fear I will need it for the rest of my life. But.... I will be visiting this forum to ask some more questions in the year to come most likely and help anyone out that I can.

Good luck to you man, and let us know how its going please. 160mg is quite a lot.

I have to admit I love OC it makes me feel great. In fact I'm rockin on the moon right now. I use to have a problem with them 160 mg / day 5,000 mg per month straight up the nose it took me a long time to wean myself down. I do them now as a recreational thing once or twice a month.
