Is there any natural ways to detox from Oxycontin?
I was put on oxycontin for a severe uterine infection about 8 months ago. I am now seeking the drug on the streets for relief from the severe withdrawal I am having. I no longer have insurance, and I am scared of what i am becoming. I have heard of suboxone and methadone, but again I am without insurance. does anyone know of a natural way to detox? I am scared and alone, and sick as a dog, I dont want to be a junky.

morphine is very addictive, that is not usually the medication of choice for a uterine infection.but for what ever reason your addicted.there are hot lines that you can call, i don't have any at hand ., but what are your symptoms ? if you get bad show up at the emergency room and tell them what ever symptoms you are having , then when you get in the back with the Dr. explain to him what your going through and that you want help to get off this Drug.they have some emergency rooms that take cases like yours.another thing you need to do is call the dr.that gave you the med . and explain what is going on and that you need help to get off it , and you have no insurance now.if that does not work (it will he is at fault for keeping you on it so long)then try your local health department and see if they can get you some help.i know there is help out there so don't give up.any hospital or Dr. office can give you a number to call for help, there is free bees out there just hunt for them.if not beg to get them to let you pay later and get treatment now. good luck don't give up , the first step was admitting you have a problem and second is trying to get something done.you can do it.

kelsey, you mentioned something about the withdrawal effects, well, withdrawal symptoms can begin as soon as six hours after the last dose and can last up to one week. getting drugs from the streets would just add to your problem. i agree with patricia that the best thing to do is to seek help from your local health department where the may refer you to a drug detox program. there is actually an outpatient detox program so this would be easier.

As for natural detoxification from the drug, some say ear acupuncture helps. however, this, and other natural remedies you might find; are just to address the effects of taking the drug & not the actual problem of addiction where the above-mentioned facilities are for. Good luck!
