No you can't buy Novocaine, only Doctor's can do so as they are trained to administer it.

All meds can cause upset stomachs, I would try taking it with food.

What I have found that works awesome for tooth pain is Oragel. I have it with me all the time. I use a Q-tip and apply it right on the tooth and it kills the pain instantly. It is great stuff.

I highly recommend you see a dentist to find out what is causing the tooth pain. Is it your wisdom teeth? It could be an abcess, cavity, or something else. It would be wise to check it out.

Good luck!

Michelle

i took tramadol for a while..crappy stuff...didnt help with my pain..my pain is not from a tooth..but anywayz, ya, it made my brain feel wired so that i could not go to sleep. i felt sleepy but couldnt go to sleep! that's the worst...the upset stomach could definitely be from not eating..you hafta eat something with it.

Novacaine like any other medicine that requires a prescription requires diagnoses and treatment decisions to be made by a physician. A lay person wouldn't know where to inject it anyway, I mean, what would you do with it?
There are some "caines" that are included in topical anesthetics like ointments or things like orajel or sore throat sprays that can be applied to the mucus membranes or an open wound and be effective.
Potentially any medicine taken orally can cause nausea.Especially taken on an empty stomach.

Always take medicines, especially analgesics, on a full stomach. In practice, the only analgesic we found to be safe taken even on a empty stomach is paracetamol. Usually tramadol works for moderate to severe pain but if the cause of pain is attributed to an ongoing infection, you have to address it first, usually with the appropriate antibiotic. That's one probable cause why the drug didn't work for you.
