Hydromorphone or dihydromorphinone hydrochloride (Brand names: Palladone IR, Dilaudid as examples) is an opioid analgesic, a derivative of morphine. It's used as an alternative analgesic to morphine & diacetylmorphine; as well as a 2nd or 3rd line narcotic antitussive (cough suppressant) for cases of dry, painful cough.

Each tablet contains Hydromorphone hydrochloride salts. In addition, the tablets include lactose anhydrous, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and silicon dioxide

Side effects include are similar to morphine's which may include light-headedness, dizziness, sedation, constipation, nausea, vomiting, and sweating.
