What pharmacies carry the best brand name Oxycontin tabs, is there a ceriftication or something?

I am curious because I heard that some pharmacies carry generic that does not work. I just had back surgery and need them for legitimate reasons, but don't want to go to a pharmacy that has inferior generic brands.

Generic drugs are not equivalents. They are cheap knockoffs.
Hence the word "generic". If you can afford it, always ask your dr. to write DISPENSE AS WRITTEN.
Remember most ins. companies will only pay for generics.

By law, the Brand name and the Generic must have the same active ingredient.. Its the same, just the generic has a better price. But if you must have brand, and you or your insurance company is willing to pay for the Brand price, then yes most pharmacy carry brand name, your best bet is to.. When you get your prescription is to call your local pharmacy and see if they have it, because its a highly controlled substance, they may be low or not have any on hand.. So I would call and check, be sure to have the strength, and the amount so they can see if they can fill it for you, before you go up there..~

I agree with you magnolia that according to law, branded and generic medicines should contain the same amount of active ingredient. Unfortunately, a lot of unscrupulous people make generic medications inferior in the quantity and quality of active ingredients in the hope of getting higher profits.

Your best bet would be to use a reputable pharmacy who employs strict regulations on what and what not to sell. Or, if your doctor has a brand name that he uses, then you also have the option of using that, if you can afford it.
