Is Tramadol and Neurontin supposed to work instantly? How long does it take to kick in?

Is Tramadol supposed to work instantly? How long does it take to kick in?? And same question for Neurontin??
I started taking it on June 25th for (cervical) herniated, bulging disc's. Also nerve damage, mild degenerative joint disease, and mild arthritis.
Sceduled in July for epidural injections.
They don't seem to be working (yet).

tramadol tends to work fairly fast like a few days to a week but really supposed to work faster than that to bring SOME relief.

Neurontin can take time to work.. month or more.....

The neurotin will mostly help the nerve pain if anything....

You should keep taking it untul you get the injections and than see what happens. you might need the initial kick from the injections and than you might see the relief from the tramadol but likely these meds arent strong enough for the pain that you're in...

neurontin doesnt tend to be miraculous... it just ussualy helps turn down the nervous system and can help the nerve pain and radiating pain which i saw you mention you had earlier...


Despite what the person below says Neurontin does NOT work instantly.... ive been on the sruff for years... i know...

the tramadol though is actually supposed to work just like any other pain medicine if its going to work at all. for some it does, others it doesnt...
