Are there any non-opiod based replacements for hydromorphone?
the reason for using the medication is for kidney stones... the bad ones. i'm actually asking this for a friend, but she has about 4 types of kidney stones, and she takes about 7 different medications, and the one preventing her from going back to work is hydromorphone, because it is opiod-based. she (and myself) are looking for a replacement, ergo the question

There are some replacements that can be used to replace hydromorphone such as NSAiDS although these are not strong enough to ease the pain. You may want to consult your doctor before changing medications.
