Is this true that hydrocodone (metabolizes into hydromorphone)?

what i am saying is so that i wouldnt matter which one you did you would still test positive for opiates correct? elaborate more on the subject if you can! for instnace if you get drug screened by a probation officer. they would just be ale to tell i did opiates and not the exact one, i get tested with a five panel drug screen for five different drugs. (Urine test) and i have a perscription for hydrocodone. so does it matter if i do one or ther other as long as i am perscribded a drug that is derived from opiates, like hydrocodone???

since you have an opiate prescription they just throw out the results of your test and grade you as clean , lucky you ... they still bill the state though to make some money , its kind of a scam , but thats not your fault or problem

Hydrocodone does metabolize into hydromorphone, but does not usually cause a positive result in an opiate test since most standard urine drug tests check for morphine and not hydromorphone. There are drug tests specific for these substances. And just in case a false positive is seen, a confirmatory test is done to make sure of the accuracy of the test. Therefore, if you have a positive result with opiates and you present a prescription for hydrocodone or hydromorphone, they can also test you for these substances to make sure that this is the one causing the false positive or something entirely different.
