Why do I have to wait 30 minutes before lying down while on Naproxen

I just started taking Naproxen, and on the bottle it says that I should wait 30 minutes befor lying down. Why is that?

Simply because you could worsen the side effects of gastrointestinal damage. It could cause an ulcer.

Some advice patients taking naproxen to wait 30 minutes before lying down (after taking the drug) to reduce the risk of getting upset stomach. Taking antacids while on naproxen would also help.
