Have you ever heard of Ibuprofen causing joint or muscle pain?

I am a 48 yr old, reasonably healthy male. For the past three weeks I have suffered from severe pain in my right hip. The condition (whatever it is) is pinching my sciatic nerve and causing pain in my leg and tingling and numbness in my toes and foot. I have an MRI scheduled in a few days, but until the problem is resolved, my biggest challenge so far has been managing the pain. Until today, I was taking a combination of pain meds that included Motrin 800 prescribed by my physician. She also prescribed Skelaxin and Ultram. I have never been able to dull the pain longer than about 4 hours while on these meds. This morning, I decided not to take the Motrin. I took only the Skelaxin & Ultram. Wonder of wonders, my pain level has decreased tremendously so I think the Motrin has something to do with it. Has anyone ever heard of Motrin having this effect - causing pain rather than decreasing it?

Hmm, although there has been no evidence of Motrin causing more pain, it may be the interaction between these medications that has been causing more pain, although there is also no known adverse reaction between them. If this has helped in relieving your pain, then I would suggest to continue with it.
