The active ingredient should be the same as should the strength. The standard strength for ibuprofen in the U.S. is 200 mg per each tablet. Check the bottle of the one you purchase in Germany to see if it's the equivalent. I wouldn't recommend purchasing any drugs overseas online -- you just never know what you're going to get. However, if you're physically in Germany and need to purchase the ibuprofen, you can ask for a translation of the strength as listed on the bottle or ask the pharmacist from whom you purchase the ibuprofen what strength it is.
