Is there a difference between Advil and Midol Cramps/Body Aches? (assuming equal dose of ibuprofen)?
The only active ingredient listed on the box for Midol Cramps/Body Aches is ibuprofen. Is the difference perceived by my wife between taking this and regular ibuprofen merely a placebo effect? Or is there some reason it might actually be different (assuming equal doses of the ibuprofen itself)?

Advil and Midol Cramps/Body Aches are both brand names of ibuprofen 200mg. So basically, they're the same. Midol came up with different types based on the condition that patient has which prompted him to take an analgesic. In short, they made it case-specific. For example, a teen having menstrual cramps would get the Midol Cramps type which has only 200mg of ibuprofen rather than getting a generic 500mg since the pain associated with menstrual period are usually relieved by low dose ibuprofen. For cases in which mentrual period is accompanied by bloated feeling, headaches and weakness, then Midol Menstrual Complete can be taken which has Acetaminophen 500 mg (for pain), Caffeine 60 mg (stimulant) and Pyrilamine maleate 15 mg (diuretic).
