Your body may be come "immune" to ibuprofen. This happens when your body can already tolerate it in the body, therefore "registering" it as something that is normally in the body. When this happens, then your body may be needing a different medication for the pain.

A note on your headaches... were you checked by a doctor for concussions when your head got hit by a softball? This is because it is quite dangerous to have a head injury that has not been checked, especially if you are having constant headaches. You may need a different kind of medication all together or it is your body's way of alerting you that something may be wrong.

I hope you would consult a doctor on your headaches, especially if it started after your injury.

Hope this helps.
