Do benzodiazepines ever lose their anti-anxiety effect after long-term use Some say you can take them forever
Some people say you can take them forever and say they lose their sedative effect but retain their anti-anxiety effect forever w/o tolerance ever setting in. I have been on both klonopin and xanax and they both pooped out on me.
Medications often have different reactions for each individual. If your body becomes dependent on benzos to control anxiety, then you may have to take it for a longer period of time. If you notice that the sedative effects are gone, and you become more anxious, then the dosage given may need to be adjusted.
Maybe, the klonopin and xanax was just not right for you. That's the problem with these medications, It is truly a trial and error thing on choosing what is right for you.
