Has anyone used Lorazepam for anxiety
My psychologist at college suggested that I take some anti-anxiety medicines to stop worrying. Does this drug work? My Primary Care Physician prescribed it. Does anybody have any experience with it?

It maybe good until you have to come off of it. It is very addictive.

Lorazepam is a drug that many people get dependant on and I would suggest you take the minimum dosage, and only when you really, really need to.If you have an addictive personality you must be extra careful. I use it for brain seizures and even then I will only use a very small dosage as in 05.mg.as it leaves me very tired all the following day. Yes it works well, but tiredness is a serious side affect. Monitor yourself carefully or change to something else like an anti-depressant which can also work well for anxiety.

Yes, it is a good drug. Many people with serious anxiety problems use it, either by its self or with a combination of other drugs as needed.

Lorazepam is a fair medication for anxiety. The biggest problem with it is that it has a very short half life. The best options for you would be klonopin and an SSRI antidepressant. I am on both and love them.

It's better to learn methods to reduce anxiety. Try going to some websites on anxiety & learn ways to help like meditation, deep breathing, etc. Aout 5% of people get paradoxical aggression from benzos such as lorazepam, xanax, valium etc, fyi. For me, it would happen after the sedative properties wore off. Buspar may help - it works differently - it's not a benzo.

I take lorazapam and I've been taking it for about six months.
I tried zoloft cause I was under so much stress and my dad is dying.
Nothing takes away stress and it won't make you worry any less.
The lorazepam is really garbage in my opinion. I find the best way to cope with issues is just to face them head on and deal with it and file it away. I make sure I do things that make me happy and that also helps alot.
