pet/cat tranquilizers

are there any over the counter pet tranquilizers at petco or petsmart that i can purchase? i need one for my cat for a day road trip and my cat is too stressed in the car and i usually have the vet sedate her but that is not cheap so im looking to see if there is a different way to go about this please and thank you

Foster & Smith sells something called Rescue Remedy that has worked for my cat Tigger.
It is a clear liquid that you just drop a few drops on the tongue or put it in the water bowl. It is made of natural herbs and not a drug. Instructions say even humans can safely take it, but I never tried it myself.
You have to order it online though, so you may not have a week to wait until you can get it sent to you.

I can't think of the name now, but Petsmart for sure sells calming products. Usually, these are scents that activate calming parts of the brain (like lavender with humans) or foods that calm the cat down as opposed to actual medication. I believe I saw some products at Petco too...either way, you should be able to find something.
