how much xanax or ativan for my 6 lb dog
I have a 6lb maltipoo dog. I want to clip his nails so yesterday I gave him 1/2 of a .25mg of xanax, which didn't do anything. how much can I safely give him to be affective?
AND PLEASE DON'T say not to do this.... I have read this all over this site. People just need to make sure how much is safe. I know it's OK, I just want to know how much is OK. Again, don't reply if you are going to say "no don't do it, ask a vet" cuz guess what i can't afford to groom him or talk to a vet. So pleaseee help if you have done this or are a vet.

Evidently you have taken too many Xanax yourself ,or you would know that you can't give a dog human meds,so if you go ahead and do it and it dies you could be arrested for animal cruelty. Why would you want your dogs brain to be warped like and Xanax user.

Calls to the vet are free...can you not afford a phone?

Why are you giving your dog Xanax if it wasn't prescribed? Muzzle the dog and clip the toenails- not difficult.

It is against the terms of use to give dosage information for any drug. Plus human meds aren't generally safe for dogs unless under the supervision of a vet. You should not need to drug your dog to trim his nails & if you can't afford to have your dog groomed or take it to the vet when needed, you shouldn't own one, you should find him a new home that can care for him properly.
