Can propranolol help with anxiety? I usually take xanax but I ran out of my insurance and was buying on pharmacy-online until they jacked up their prices. I now bought this but it is kind of scaring me because it affects the heart more. Anyone have any experience?

Propanolol is a beta blocker often prescribed for anxiety problems. Therefore, it can help with anxiety. However, you may need to check with your doctor on the right dosage for you.
Just adding to what ladypam said: Propranolol can work for CERTAIN types of anxiety, usually for performance anxiety. Studies show that this drug won't be much applicable for people with general social phobia who are anxious in most social situations. So I agree that you have to see your doctor first if propranolol would be applicable in your case.
