How long does it take to get off benzodiazepines
I have finally said enough is enough. The problems is I have no self control and any pills my doctor gives me to start to wean me down are going straight down the hatch. I am going to have to go inpatient to get off of these, but how long until the physical withdrawal symptoms pass?

A week to ten days. The doctor needs to lower your dose gradually. My last answer was deleted, I hope you got it. He will slowly take your dose down increment by increment. It will make the come down a lot more bearable. Prayin for ya man!

At lest 4 days but under medical supervision- they do give you "something" to "ease" the withdrawal, and you will probably stay on it for awhile, sorry I can't remember the name of the med.

physical withdrawl generally takes around 72 hours. if you are a long time addict, you will need medical supervision (and probably medication) to safely withdraw.

somtimes years
physicaly you can get past the point of seizures kinda quick but you should switch to Valium and do a micro taper for at least 6 months and you will be fine but you will still have to deal with the mental part thats the hardest, i came off klonopin 1mg every other day, 1 and a half years ago and i still have a hard time just walking into the gym or a bar i don't think you ever get your confidence, social skills, or personality back im sorry thats just how, it is your brain forgets how to produce its own anti anxiety mechanism
