Carisoprodol addiction?

Has anyone here known anyone addicted to the muscle relaxer Soma (Carisoprodol)? I have a friend that is very addicted to this medication and all the info I look up is confusing. There is not much info regarding effects of long-term heavy use. I'm concerned because my friend takes 3x the recommended dosage. Any info or links to recovery sites or medication sites would be useful. Thank you

Soma is actually known to be an abused substance. Since it is a sedative and a muscle relaxant, it is often taken in more doses just to get rid of the pain.
