Is it safe to take a Soma (Carisoprodol) with my Lunesta
Hello,
I am prescribed to Lunesta for insomnia and it works great. However I recently came across some Soma muscle relaxers that I take for my muscle spasms. I know how my body reacts to both drugs but i'm just wondering if it is safe to take both at the same time? Thank you!

From drugs.com interaction checker: "Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients.

MANAGEMENT: During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and respiratory depression. Ambulatory patients should be counseled to avoid hazardous activities requiring complete mental alertness and motor coordination until they know how these agents affect them, and to notify their physician if they experience excessive or prolonged CNS effects that interfere with their normal activities."

Hi........Don't opt for any medicines. Take advice of any good chriopractor, so that you can know pain controlling techniques. Increase your potassium intake level. take care of your health. Thanks fro sharing.

from my experience
Hi, if you wanted something from somebodies personal experience, Lunesta is Esziplicone, and SWIM has taken both zoplicone, and zolpidem, along with just somas, as well as a few other combinations, several times with no adverse side effects. You just have to try to be safe and smart about it... If you know you can handle one or two of each on their own without a problem, then one of each shouldn't be much of a problem. Now with some combinations, you do have to worry about the synergy aspect of it, such as with benzos and opiates, but again, if you are safe and logical about it (dont excessively mix with alcohol, or take any more than you think you might be able to handle), chances are that you do not have much to fear.
