It may cause weight gain, depending on its effect on you. As with other antibiotics, prolonged use can affect the normal flora of the body's stomach, thus affecting the normal digestion of food, which in turn can cause weight gain.
If you really need the tetracycline to treat your skin problem, you may want to try to lose weight after the duration of the medication or switch to another antibiotic. Or you can try to maintain your body weight so as to not add to the number of pounds you need to lose after taking tetracycline.
