Is it ok to take erythromycin 500mg antibiotic as a precautionary measure
They were prescribed to me a while ago.

Precautionary to what? There is such a thing called prophylactic antibiotic regimen where a person takes a determined amount of antibiotics in preparation for an invasive procedure, for example a surgery. However, you must never do that on your own. The doctor should determine what antibiotic to take, the dose and when it should be used as a prophylactic or preventive measure.
