How much Amoxicillin do you give a dog per pound

I have a dachshund that weighs about 18 pounds. He recently got into a fight with a bigger dog. And has some cuts. The vet said to give him Amoxicillian. I need to know how many MG's to give him per pound. Thanks

its not mgs per pound, its mgs per kg and your vet should have given you a dose.

Did the vet give you the prescription? or did he just say to use meds that you already have if so seek a second opinion.
