Is this a reaction to penicillin?
Today I went to the dentist for a tooth infection and he prescribed penicillin 500 mg every 6 hours on the second dose it seemed like my throat was swelling a little difficult swallowing salavia so to speak then I started itching in my hands and it was like I had white pockets under skin shortly after that I threw up and felt a little better.. my question is should I stop taking the meds untill i speak to my dentist tomorrow or should I still continue?

I would suggest that you stop until you talk to the dentist. I am allergic to penicillin and it would kill me if I ever took it again, but I had a severe allergic reaction. It sounds like you are allergic. Anyone can become allergic to anything at anytime. You could also go right now to a 24 hour pharmacy so they could take a look at it. I would do the latter to be sure.

i agree with jacie. it's a sign that your allergic to penicillin and to other penicillin-derivative drugs (ampicillin, amoxicillin, etc.). your dentist may prescribe you another antibiotic like erythromycin. i suggest you see him asap. Rashes may improve when treated with an antihistamine (i.e. Benadryl).
