Tetracycline question...side effect HELP!!
I've currently been taking Tetracycline to help with my acne for about 3 weeks now. Recently, for the past week or so I'd say, I've been waking up feeling extremely hungry. Also, after I eat, I STILL feel hungry, but don't have the urge to eat. I know one of the side effects of taking Tetracycline is loss of apetite, but I'm experiencing just the opposite! Does anyone know what's up? Or what I can do to fix this? Or is this normal?! THANKS!!

You do realise don't you, that you have to take it on an empty stomach or at least 1 whole hour before food?
Therefore after you have taken your tablet and an hour has elapsed, you can eat as much as you can!
Better to be like this than to have diarrhoea and nausea!

Increased appetite is not a normal side effect of tretracylcine. Are you taking any other medications with tetracylcine? If so you should check with your doctor before mixing any medications. Also tetra should be taken 2 hours before or after meals, to avoid mixing with the food. If this continues to be a problem, (or you believe it to be so), then you should probably switch to a lotion/external formula to treat your acne and see how your problem changes.
