Can you crush Penicillin into a fine powder and take with water?

I crush the tablet into a fine powder then fill a shot glass only 1/3 to 1/2 full. Then i dump the Penicillin in the glass and down it in less than a second or two. Is it going to react to the water before it can work in my stomach? Or is this an acceptable way to take the antibiotic?

Are you doing this because of a problem with swallowing tablets? Because if you do, it would be better to take the liquid form of penicillin.

thanks for your answer. Is the effects of the liquid form different from the tablet mixed in water? How does the it differ?
