Extremely tired after Atasol-30 and Penicillin
Ok, so I'm not sure what exactly is causing this. Firstly, I have to say that I HAVE been mostly awake for the last day and a half while recuperating from dental surgery. I have slept for like, at the most, four hours at a time?
Anyway though, it also seems like whenever I take one of these drugs, Atasol-30 or T3 or Penicillin, I get EXTREMELY tired. But I'm not sure if it's simple drowsiness from the pill and me being awake for so long... but I was so tired that I kept on almost falling asleep in my chair at the comp, and losing focus. So I made myself stay awake, and then it was time to take penicillin and one pain pill (I had been taking 2 each time before) and then I became EXTREMELY drowsy again. Like almost in a way I couldn't control. Is this bad? Could anything serious happen if I went to bed now? Like, what if I never wake up again and I'm overdosing on codeine or something! Or maybe I'm just over tired mixed with the drowsy side effect... I don't know, but how serious is this symptom?? Like being so tired I keep spacing out unwillingly??

When you say extremely tired, does it mean that you feel really drowsy and sleepy? A side effect of atasol-30 is drowsiness. As long as you follow the prescription, and are not taking anything else, the effect of atasol (penicillin does not cause drowsiness) combined with your body's need for rest and sleep is causing this drowsiness. You can go to bed right now without worrying that you won't wake up. You definitely will wake up feeling better and refreshed.

Hope this helps..

Atasol is a brand of Acetaminophen/ Paracetamol. One of it's rare symptoms include unusual tiredness or weakness. Since this drug is primarily used in pain & fever cases, this symptom is an advantage since it "forces" the body to have its rest and let it recover from the illness. Ladypam is right, penicillin doesn't cause drowsiness, but surprisingly, I do feel a little sleepy whenever I take this kind of antibiotics.

Thank you very much Ladypam and Tinmuning for your helpful replies. I can sleep better without worrying about the side effects of the drugs.
