I went to the neurologist today and they prescribed me topamax. Its originally for seizures but its also really good for headaches. There are some weird side affects i guess and it said it could possibly cause me seizures...idk...i am getting the prescription filled on friday i believe and i guess i just want to talk to someone who has taken it or who is currently taking it...the side affects and anything else they have experienced from it
I was on Topamax once and the main side effect you need to be carefull of is that it can make you borderline anorexic. I meen it can kill your appitite big time.
When I was on that I only wheighed 150 lbs and the first week I was on it I had to be taken to the ER because I needed some vitamines and minerals to be restored back into my system.
But other than that it is a good pain killer but I needed it for the seizures not the pain.
i take 200mg at night everyday and i have never experienced side effects, iv been taking it for over 2 years for chronic daily headaches, it helps prevent them a little but not much...
Ugh. I refused to take it (I have epilepsy) because it's also known to make you as dumb as a bag of rocks (AKA the "Durr What's My Name" Drug) -- of course, side effects are different for everyone, but since I tend to get whatever freaky-ass side effect comes with a drug, my doctor agreed and prescribed Keppra instead. Interesting that they are prescribing it now for migraines!
