Does Tegretol (Carbamazepine USP) cause weight gain?

I have researched the web extensively and found conflicting reports of it causing cravings for sweets and weight gain and I've read that it's an anorectic and you tend to lose weight, I've also read it's weight neutral. Please help. I know everybody is different but in *general*, I'm wondering. Thank you!

I used to take it for epilepsy, and my weight didn't really change. If anything I lost a few pounds. I didn't notice any sweet cravings. It doesn't mix well with alcohol though. It used to make me feel sick if I drank.

Actually, it has a reverse effect: you will NOT gain weight; due to loss of appetite (one of the serious side effect of that medication)
