Tegratol (carbamazepine) Does it help you
Hi all.
I was just put on Tegratol.
Im wondering if its working , or if its just making me too tired to have my meltdowns.
It IS making me VERY tired to the point where I have to take power naps now and then for about 20 minutes or so.
Im hoping that will wear off soon.
Anyone here on it , or been on it in the past?
tell me how it affected you.
Thanks

My bf was put on Tegretol Retard and Sodium Valporate for grand-mal epilepsy and they certainly help to control his seizures. it took a while to get the dosage right though: he was on far too high a dose to start with and he was walking around like a zombie: he even started to hallucinate. They cut his meds a little (not so little that he would have seizures), and now he feels very comfortable on them. I would suggest you give yourself time to adjust to them (they are strong meds after all), if you still feel so very tired after a reasonable adjustment period then go back to your doctor and ask them to review your dosage or perhaps look at other alternatives. good luck.
