I'm Coming off Mirtazapine (Avanza). Its withdrawel symptoms are strong.
I've recently (2 weeks ago) started to come off Avanza after 9 years on the medication. My dose has gone from 30mg to 15mg and eventually it will be 7.5 and then nothing.
My life has been going well for over 3 years therefore I felt strong enough to stop.
The side effects of coming off have been awful. I've been irritable, tearful and have floods of negative thoughts about myself.
Has any one else felt these symptoms? How do I know whether its the withdrawel symptoms or the depression coming back?
I would love to hear how others may have experienced coming off Avanza.
O h god it was hell for me... not easy at all... the strangest things were my wife said I started talking and passing gas alot in my sleep that sudden outbursts of anger then wild emotion were very common...One minute I would be pissed the -next minute I would crying like a school girl who just burnt her hiney on the metal slide on the playground...the sun had scorched it I suppose....hope this helps
Oh dear... So i have this to look forward to?? Acutally i had very similar side effects when i went onto Avanza, almost six weeks ago... And to date, my depression has got worse! After conversation with my GP today, I have decided to come off antidepressants all together - so i have a few more weeks of mood swings, impatience, anger, crying....
Where does it end??
