rgs3girls is on a distinguished road
i have just been put on citalopram pills, will they stop my contraceptive pill
doctors gave me citalopram pills for depression today, i forgot to tell him im taking microgynon conteceptive pill, will the contraceptive still work?

It should be fine with those. Doc will know what you are taking from the notes.

I'm sure thats ok, if you are worried give him a call for advice or check netdoctor.com they are informative

Hey, no it doesn't effect it as far as I know, I was on both too and the doc knew, he said it is not known to have any effect! hope this helps

I took citalopram and quite honestly it screwed with my emotions and made me feel nasueas, so glad to be off them,
like I couldnt cry anymore, they just took my emotions away
and I dont think you can, call your doctor and notify him what youre taking, also on the paper you got the pills you should see what youre not aloud to take while taking them

I am on citalopram and microgynon - they are fine. I have bad headaches and nausea for the first 2 weeks of taking citalopram, its nasty but it stops and they are worth it. I now feel in control but without a false sense of well being, just more able to cope. Good luck x
