That seems strange that your psychiatrist won't change your dose - it does take a few weeks to be sure the new dose won't work, though. Were you clear with him/her that you can't get out of bed? It seems like there is a serious communication breakdown there. You need to get a different psychiatrist, is my opinion.
OK< in your situation, you need to ask for help. call your mom, or another close relative, and tell them what is going on, and ask them to come over and help you. You probably need help getting some housework done, and you probably haven't been eating, etc. Make sure that you warn them that you can't get out of bed, so they should bring something with them to do when they take a break, like some cards or a book. You can try to play cards with them, or the like. Ask that person to help you deal with the doc. Call the psychiatrist in the morning, and have them call back, then give your loved one permission to talk to the doctor on your behalf. It could be you are so depressed, you are not able to advocate for yourself.
You need to ask for help. You are worth it. I even had my dad fly 1500 mi to help me when I was depressed like you are, and another time, I had my mom and sisters come over, and they cleaned my house while I lay there in bed. I felt terrible about it, but when I am well, I do things for them, too. Now I am married, and during these times, my husband does all the cooking and cleaning and bill paying. Depression is a really serious illness to get (the severe major depression that you have, is what I mean). It's no different than if you were laying there after a serious accident or another illness. It is embarrassing, but that is how sickness is - we need to reach out to others for help.
Good luck!
