Bupropion SR/ Wellbutrin question
Hi
I start taking Bupripion SR 150mg once a day 7 days ago, today I will increase it to 150mg twice a day (with 12 hours gap between doses 6am and 6pm) for depression.and thats all. I don't take anything else.
So far not much diffrence, I am getting more hungry than usual but I supress it with drinking water or a little crackers.
I whant to know how other users exprience when they started it.
When it will be the point to decide this is not working for me?
Many thanks.

Take a few years off before you decide. All the best.

I got really hyper at first but it eventually went away. You will probably not feel the good effects for a couple weeks to a month but stay positive. It has been the medicine that worked better than anything else for me. If taking it twice a day is hard ask if they can switch you to the Wellbutrin XL 300mg once a day.

Hmmm...each person experiences their own unique set of side effects when their bodies are adjusting to this kind of med. The thing with antidepressants is that they work slowly, they take time for your body to get used to and acheive a blance in your brains chemistry. Try it for 3 months, atleast. if there is no change or you are worse you need to talk to your doc. Do not stop these meds cold turkey... notice how you have to gradually increase your dose? You have to do the same thing to go off of them, it wreaks havic on your chemistry to stop it cold turkey, the potential to crash hard is there if you go cold turkey.

You should wait about 6 weeks. If you don't see any difference at all by that time then it's time to switch. Full effects should be reached after 8 weeks on the drug.

Welbutrin helped me loose 30 pounds in less than 3 to 4 month...It never gave me a bad side effect and it helped my depression alot.Actually due to a Gastric tube ,they had to change my medications around so now i am taking zolof -I took this for 3 or more years and never helped me to return back to it.I am convince that now that I got the feeding tube remove I can go back to extended realise of welbutrin.Best wishes...read the blogs on welbutrin.com

I was on it for about 2 years. I didn't really notice a difference in the depression; whatever affect it had was too gradual to really notice. didn't have any side affects at all, unless I doubled my dosage to make up for forgetting to take one. I saw skulls. Talking green skulls. Don't double your dosage!! lmao

*edit* If you smoke, Wellbutrin will also help you quit. It reduces your brains desire for nicotine.
