Anyone facing depression symptoms from antidepressants
I have been taking Effexor XR for several months and just recently I've started feeling depressed. I take Effexor for anxiety. I think I remember in my psych class talking about how when anxiety patients take antidepressants they typically deal with depression as a side effect, and visa versa for depression patients. I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way, and if so, do you take a different medication for the depression?

I started taking Effexor last month it seems to help with my anxiety. I think prozac worked better for depression. I was on prozac for over 20 years and it worked great for depression.

www.drugs.com

talks about different drugs for all conditions.

I was on Remeron for the depressive states of bipolar disorder, and I couldn't stand the lethargy side effects... I switched to Celexa, which shot me straight into a pretty intense hypomania after my moods lifted from the initial severe depression. After dropping the Celexa (as well as Lamictal in short order), the depression returned full-force and ingnited an emotional roller coaster of moods in a short period of time. I got back on my lithium and I am doing fairly well, although I don't feel as stabilized as before.

Celexa was a good curb for the depression, when I was taking it.

You're supposed to contact your doctor if you have feelings of depression so that they can change the dosage or something.
