For one thing, alcohol is a depressant, so it's creating the opposite effect on your body chemistry that the antidepressant is (in other words, you're shooting yourself in the foot because the alcohol "competes" with the antidepressant, which means you aren't getting as much benefit from it, and can even make you more depressed in the long-run).

It's not that bad. Anti-depressants just increase the effect of the alcohol (in a bad way, not a good way) and make you feel sick.
Take your anti-depressants, wait an hour or two then start drinking.. works best. NEVER take them after you finish drinking unless you want your head to spin wildly!

Alcohol acts as a multiplier. It's like not drinking with painkillers, or basically any pill. It just changes the effect, and sometimes doubles it in a bad way. My mom used to drink a lot with her antidepressants and she would fall asleep as early as two hours after she started drinking, and she'd behave differently than if she was just drinking.

Effexor is a strong medicine. It is not the "run of the mill" helper.

Talk to your doctor and to your counselor. You are setting yourself up for a very bad situation.

My friend is on this medicine and he has problems with addictions that you may never consider. If you are on effector you should not take any alchol at all.

Try to do better.

If you value your life talk to someone.
