what are the side effects of stopping taking antidepressants?
i am taking Zoloft for anxiety and depression....sometimes i forget to take it for days at a time, sometimes i feel so shitty when i take it i stop taking it for a few days...this causes heart palipitations and i get very dizzy.. is this common when coming off of antidepressants? if they are completely out of my system will this problem go away?
palpitations and dizzy spells as well as sickness,stomache cramps,and shaking hands are all signs of withdrawl from antideppresants,really you shouldnt stop taking your medication without consulting your g.p,but the symptoms you have are commn with coming off antidepresants.howeve when they are completly out of your system yo must b carefull that your orriginal condition dosent come back.
Then you will have to somehow learn to live with the depression and do what people have done for thousands of years without pills.
You really should step down off the antidepressants. cut back 50% each week. Sudden stops has been known to trigger a seizure while you are asleep. A friend went cold turkey and bit his tongue badly. Still, he lived and will never agree to take antidepressants again. No booze, drugs and diet an a lot of exercise and physical activity is best. Stay away from "bad" relationships and stay out of anything that looks like trouble. Clean and sober. Work hard and live clean, I say. Hard but worth the long, hard effort. No pills for this one. They pack on the pounds and you never get better. Just become a low-grade zombie. Know what I mean?
