how much do antidepressants cost?
Im 15 and my mum refuses to get me treatment for my depression and insomnia which i've had for a year and a half now.
im thinking of going to the doctors by myself to get treatment but how much is this all going to cost?
for some reason she thinks they dont work.

If you are in the UK, then it is free while you are under 16yrs old.

Your mum isn't doing you any favours by not getting you help. I would go see your doctor asap.

xx

Doctors won't treat children without parents permission and authorization. They have to fill out and sign forms and everything.

Well i am on antidepressants, its a long road to trying to get them, especially for a young person like yourself.
I was 16 when i started on them and i had to be prescribed them by a psychiatrist.
An average prescription costs about £7.00
But as you are 15, and probably in full time education, you wont have to pay.

I think your Mom needs to go to the Dr. Depression is serious, why is she ignoring your request for help?
Insurance would pay most of the bill, I think maybe you need to talk to another in adult in your life, and maybe they can shake some sense into your Mom.
