my girl ws taken into and admited into the womans hospital of melbourne and was given these tablets plus caltrate, cardipirne, aldomat, labidalol and nifedipine cr 90mg a day 30mg in morning and 60mg at night our son goto 25 weeks and died what can this do to the fetus would like to know if we have a case please thanks
what was the post mortom result for the death of the child, I would say one would of been done as it was a birth of a fetus and not a embryo. there has been a lot of clinical studies with nifedipine cr, but it is classed as a 'C' type medication. There is not enough evidence that is is harmful to unborn babies, BUT there is a chance that it can cause palpitations in unborn babies. Speak to a medical Lawyer.
I really don't know what it is used for, but if the hospital and or doctors, believed that the benifits outweighed the risk of taking this then, they would have to show this.
But your best bet would be to contact a laywer and have him get her medical records and see if you do or do not have a case.
